The Symposium of the Gods is a dreamlike journey into Greek Myth; a journey that tells of a fantastical time that never existed, yet was narrated 2,600 years ago and has survived to this day. Now the Gods and Myths return to tell their stories in almost human guise; and once again the tragic characters and those of Homeric epics relive their eternal drama, made up of love, war, deeds, and insoluble conflicts. These characters suddenly fall into the present, impalpable as white shadows, real as marble statues.
The mythological universe, with its stories so divine and so human, has inspired and shaped our entire culture, becoming an archetype of our being, not only in theater and literature but also in the human psyche and consciousness. “Our soul possesses almost by nature the capacity to exalt itself before the Sublime and with a noble impulse is filled with joy and pride as if it had created itself what it has seen and heard.” – cit. Anonymous –
In this interplay of inspiration, memories of classical studies, imagination, and ecstasy for that timeless time, I sensed the sublime, in a surge of joy and pride, as if I had created what I saw and heard… and suddenly, as I imagined, the Gods were already there, true and perfect, before my eyes.
